I find it funny that a place my parents used to go to for years, they suddenly stopped going to because they had one bad meal. It is so difficult to find great places to eat. I think that I sometimes become too fickle and reject places because they seem to ordinary or plain.

look for Ababu along Xavierville or King's kebab along katipunan avenue. Both are really good and reasonably priced.
